The New You that Comes with Every Storm
"And once the storm is over, you won't remember how you made it through, how you managed to survive. You won't even be sure, whether the storm is really over. But one thing is certain. When you come out of the storm, you won't be the same person who walked in. That's what the storm's all about."
- Haruki Murakami
Face it, we are all struggling in our own little way. We all are in the middle of a storm. Even if we had just gotten out of one, there is another one waiting to strike. To me, life is all about progression. It's knowing that the person who is waking up this morning is different from the one who woke up the day before. If in the last 24-hours you managed to learn, improve, enlighten, inspire, make mistakes, then that was a successful 24-hours. This mindset actually encourages you to become resilient and confident in yourself. If you believe that you are putting in 100% each and everyday to work on yourself, when life throws challenges at you, you accept that challenge with confidence. You already know that you have the skills and the ability to learn new ones to overcome this challenge.
Yes, when life throws curveballs at you, we are seldom prepared for it- but we don't need to be. All it takes is for you to roll up your socks and get to work. Have faith in your abilities, knowledge, skills, network, self-esteem, and your endurance to get you through this troubling time. Because, at the end of the day, if you feel that you have done something to chip away at the problem at hand, you had a successful day and the "new you" keeps pushing you forward.
